Well, this is it, last day of full employment. Nothing organised to go to, so it looks like Jobseekers will be our only income from now on. This will be difficult, many economies to be made. I need to keep the health insurance up until at least after I have surgery, I want the choice of where and when, and if I have the surgery in an NHS hospital there is a cash payment from the insurance which would cover the cost of the premiums.
My favourite customer has just notified me of a problem - not sure if I can do anything about it in the limited time left. I will have a look, but it's not clear if it's a long-standing error or if it's a new problem. I can't see that anything I have done recently could have introduced it, so if it's been around for a while I will probably not interfere with it at this stage in the game. Must turn off all the notifications going to my work email account as well, as they will start bouncing very soon. I will feel very bad if they are left without support but I just have to hope that my erstwhile employers will agree to pay me a daily rate to look after them. Otherwise I will be down to one laptop on the desk rather than the three there has been for the last year and a half.
The mouth ulcer is healing up now - a dull ache, but hopefully it will all be better by the time Wednesday comes and the next cycle begins again. Must go and stick a needle in myself while I remember...
