Well, that was really weird. Why did I react so strongly to getting a letter telling me what I already knew? The mind is a very strange thing. It has been nice to get all the brilliant messages of support from friends and family - haven't told DH yet as he still isn't home from work. Might decide it deserves a bottle of fizzy stuff to celebrate (any excuse!) (no, actually, I don't really need an excuse)
Anyway, a pot of coffee and a small rush of domestic Goddess feelings and I am a bit more together now. We have fresh bread and something in the slow cooker which is smelling quite good, so I can feel smug for a little while.
My parcel from Pink Ribbon Lingerie arrived this afternoon... all wrapped in pink and white tissue, it was like getting an early pressie... a bra with no seams at all, much more comfortable than the sports bras I was wearing before... brilliant service and a great product.
Commercial over now!
The doctor renewed my sick certificate this morning, which was a relief, as the thought of going back onto Jobseekers was starting to worry me... I am starting to get myself back on my feet now, and trying to get a bit fitter before the radiotherapy starts in the new year, and while I am actively looking for a job (and going for interviews with drawn on eyebrows and the slightly scary wig) I am not sure I can face the stress of the supervised job-hunting which is the lot of the Jobseeker these days.
DH decided not to buy the shiny red Ducati (sob) - well we agreed that he'd (we'd!) have it if we could do a deal to get rid of some of the bikes we already own... sadly we couldn't strike a deal that suited us and the dealer, and before we had time to sell anything someone else turned up at the dealer with a fistful of dosh... It clearly wasn't meant to be. However, the bike that has hit ebay looks as though it might sell, so that's a plus, and maybe we will look for a Ducati in the spring. Or maybe we will spend the money buying the bits that are missing from the latest 2CV restoration project!
Hmm... perhaps I will go and put a bottle of fizz in the fridge...
